What the name means in a search context

When somebody types a brand into a search box, what they type is rarely a complete question. It is usually the name plus one short word: the name and "the way in", the name and a domain suffix, the name and a country. That short trailing word is what actually says what the person needs.

So the pages here are organised by that trailing word rather than by topics we felt like writing. Somebody searching for the name and "the way in" wants routes and a way to check a link; somebody searching for the name and a domain suffix is usually confused between two similar names. Those are different questions and they deserve different pages.

How this information site is organised

There are six main pages, each answering one question, plus a handful for policies and contact. We have deliberately not added pages to make the sitemap longer: a thin page built around a phrase helps neither a reader nor a search engine.

Reading this kind of page critically

Pages written about a brand by somebody who does not own it are common, and they vary enormously. The test that works is whether a page distinguishes between a fact you could verify, a general explanation, and something the writer does not know either.

A page that states a figure with no source, announces terms as though it set them, or promises an outcome in advance should be discounted immediately, however convincingly it is written.
